Norway hand Myhre second chance

Norway have recalled goalkeeper Thomas Myhre for the qualifiers with Moldova and Greece, five months after making two costly mistakes against Turkey.

Goalkeeper Thomas Myhre has been recalled to the Norway squad for the UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifiers against Moldova and Greece, five months after his mistakes cost the side victory against Turkey.

Hagen place
Leading 2-0 in their Group C game on neutral territory in Frankfurt, Myhre made two errors as Hamit Altıntop twice profited. He has since moved to Viking FK, however, and has impressed enough for Åge Hareide to give him another chance. "I am satisfied with my two goalkeepers but want to take a closer look at Thomas as he has returned to football at the highest level," the coach explained. Erik Hagen is also included, despite being suspended for the game in Moldova on 8 September. Norway, one of three teams locked together in second place in the pool on 13 points, meet section leaders Greece in Oslo four days later.
