The world's most-travelled man, Fred Finn, and one of Ukraine's best-known radio presenters, Pavlo Shylko, have been unveiled as the country's latest Friends of UEFA EURO 2012.

Finn, born in Britain but now a Ukrainian resident, spoke of his pride at the nomination and said his adopted nation would make an excellent co-host for next summer's tournament. "I want UEFA EURO 2012 visitors to return home recalling the beautiful time they spent in Ukraine and how well the tournament was organised," said Finn, who earned his place in the Guinness World Records after 52 years of travelling, during which he has reportedly clocked up more than 24m kilometres.

"Visitors will be impressed by the beauty of the country and the hospitality of its people," the renowned globetrotter continued. "I'm sure they will feel like coming back again and again to experience the incredible Ukrainian culture."

Meanwhile, Pavlo Shylko, who also goes by the name of DJ Pasha, expressed his excitement at being named in the group. "The EURO will be the biggest sporting event ever hosted by Ukraine," the popular celebrity said. "I am excited to be among the chosen 50."
