Make or break for Iceland

Iceland have named a strong squad for their final UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifier in Germany on 11 October.

Players back
Coaches Asgeir Sigurvinsson and Logi Olafsson have selected 22 players, although that number could be cut by four just before the squad departs for Hamburg. Returning to the fold are strikers Ríkhardur Dadason and Tryggvi Gudmundsson along with winger Bjarni Gudjónsson and defender Gylfi Einarsson. Johannes Karl Gudjónsson misses out through suspension.

All to play for
Iceland need a win to top Group 5 and earn a place at next summer's finals in Portugal. If Germany draw or win, they will go through and Iceland's chances of taking second spot, and a play-off berth, would hinge on third-placed Scotland's game against Lithuania on the same day.
