Jarošik comes in from the cold

Czech Republic coach Karel Brückner has recalled Jirí Jarošik for the friendly against Canada.

Absence over
Jarošik, who became the most expensive player in Russian league history in January, has not been in a Czech squad since leaving AC Sparta Praha for PFC CSKA Moskva, where he lifted the Russian title last month. The Czechs, who have already qualified for UEFA EURO 2004™, face Canada on 15 November in Teplice.

Poborský eyes record
Injured Liverpool FC striker Milan Baros and AFC Ajax defender Zdeněk Grygera, who is getting married next week, are the only significant absentees. If he plays against Canada, Sparta midfield player Karel Poborský will equal the national record of 90 caps set by Zdenek Nehoda, a member of Czechoslovakia's 1976 UEFA European Championship-winning side.
