Both sides finished second from bottom of their UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying groups with eight points from eight games, and will be out of competitive action until the qualifiers for the Germany World Cup, the draw for which is made next month.
Late goal
However, Albania - who surprised many by beating Russia in their Group 10 campaign - received a boost after overcoming their Baltic opponents. Defender Ardian Aliaj opened the scoring for the home side after 26 minutes with forward Alban Bushi sealing victory with a second goal nine minutes from time.
