The Israel Football Association have confirmed that new national team coach Luis Fernández will officially start work on 1 May, and will kick off his tenure with friendly games against Chile and Uruguay later that month, with a game against Ivory Coast expected to follow in August. Israel's eighth foreign coach has signed an 18-month contract which will expire in December 2011.
