Czechs sense golden reward

While the Czech media hailed their "unstoppable" side, journalists in Denmark conceded that their team did not deserve to advance.

Czech Republic 3-0 Denmark

Thanks boys, it will be gold next! The Czech football machine is proving unstoppable. Although Jan Koller was invisible in the first half, his time came after the restart. The two-metre giant may not possess the grace of a dancer, but when that ball hit his head it had the power of a horse's kick. Milan Baroš weaved like Zorro, his blue boots turning everything he touched into gold. Who needs Beckham or Zidane! (Blesk)

Bang! Bang! Bang! Sixteen deadly minutes after the interval saw Brückner's side through. Jan Koller headed in the first before the jet-heeled Milan Baroš struck twice; a delicate right-foot chip followed by a left-foot thunderbolt. The Danes simply could not recover from such knockout blows. (MfDnes)

Even seen through yesterday's disappointment it's an unqualified success to reach a quarter-final round that Spain, Italy and Germany failed to make. It's fair that the Czechs will play in Thursday's semi-final in Porto while the Danes go on summer vacation. (BT)

One can only cry over a defeat that could have been a victory, but after Denmark's loss to the Czech Republic yesterday there was no need for tears. (Berlingske)
