UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Netherlands striker Ruud van Nistelrooij after he insulted referee Anders Frisk following the UEFA EURO 2004™ semi-final against Portugal.
Final whistle
Van Nistelrooij confronted Frisk - who has been named as the fourth official for Sunday's final - at the end of last night's match, which Portugal won 2-1. The UEFA control and disciplinary body will deal with the case tomorrow.
French fined
Meanwhile, the French Football Federation has been fined €6,600 after the France team were late leaving the dressing room for both the start and the second half of their quarter-final defeat by Greece.
