Croatia eye 'significant' qualifying feat

Ante Čačić insists his Croatia side will give their all to get out of a tough Group D which contains Spain, the Czech Republic and Turkey, with progress representing a "significant achievement".

Drawn into a tough-looking Group D alongside holders Spain, the Czech Republic and Turkey, Croatia coach Ante Čačić knows his side must work hard to get out of the section but says they will give their all to make the knockout phase.

I didn't have any high expectations for the draw because I knew that wouldn't affect the outcome, but it's obvious that we have got a very respectable group.

As the holders, and given that they still have a lot of quality players, Spain are the favourites. Croatia, the Czech Republic and Turkey will do everything to progress, so I think it will be very interesting, and we will have a chance to – in a way – leave mediocrity behind. To get through this group would be a significant achievement.
