Mayoress Martine Craveïa was on hand to welcome the Wales team at Dinard Airport when they arrived for UEFA EURO 2016 late on Sunday evening.

Having left from Stockholm, where Chris Coleman had watched his team suffer a disappointing 3-0 defeat by fellow finalists Sweden, Wales were greeted in north-west France by a host of local dignitaries. Now they turn attentions to their UEFA EURO 2016 Group B opener against Slovakia in Bordeaux on Saturday.

Dinard, a quiet seaside commune in Brittany, has been a hive of excitement due to the impending arrival of a squad including the likes of Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale and Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey. Wales flags can be spotted on every corner, with the locals doing their utmost to make their visitors feel at home. The Welsh party will stay in a self-contained wing of a hotel overlooking the beautiful coastline of Brittany.

The squad will train at Dinard FC's nearby ground, where the team media centre is also located. Preparations have been meticulous since qualification was secured, giving Wales the perfect platform on which to make history in their first major tournament in 58 years.
