David Silva earns 100th cap for Spain

David Silva has won his 100th Spain cap in the Group D game against the Czech Republic; the 30-year-old is now level with Carles Puyol in his nation's all-time appearance rankings.

David Silva has moved level with Carles Puyol on the all-time Spanish caps leaderboard after making his 100th international appearance in Monday's Group D game against the Czech Republic in Toulouse.

The 30-year-old attacking midfielder was part of the Spain squad that won UEFA EURO 2008, the 2010 FIFA World Cup and UEFA EURO 2012 and is aiming to lift the top prize in European international football for a third time in France.

The same is true of defender Sergio Ramos, who is now level with Xavi Hernández in second place in the all-time standings, having picked up his 133rd cap.
