Portugal national youth coach Agostinho Oliveira has been promoted to caretaker coach of the senior national side, replacing António Oliveira who was sacked after his team's first-round exit from the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

Agostinho Oliveira will train Portugal for friendlies against England, at Villa Park, on 7 September and against Sweden, in Gothenburg, on 16 October.
Impressive CV
He has worked for the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) since 1989, in which time he has led sides to the UEFA European Under-16 and Under-18 titles.
Madail action
António Oliveira's contract was due to run until the end of the 2004 UEFA European Championship, which Portugal is hosting, but he was fired by FPF chief Gilberto Madail after the World Cup finals.
