Ilievski drops quartet

F.Y.R. Macedonia have announced a 25-man squad for qualifiers against Turkey and England.

F.Y.R. Macedonia coach Nikola Ilievski has announced a 25-man squad for the upcoming EURO 2004™ qualifiers against Turkey and England on 12 and 16 October.

Four players left out
After a disappointing 1-1 draw against Liechtenstein in the side's opening qualifier, Ilievski has left four players out of the squad -Goran Pandev, Ace Stojkov, Igor Nikolovski and Mile Krstev.

Duo still have future
"Pandev and Stojkov did not show what was expected in the match against Liechtenstein," Ilievski said. "Although they will not play against Turkey and England, I will still count on these two young players in the future."

Lots of experimentation
Ilievski, who has experimented widely lately in a bid to find a winning squad, has called up FK Vardar goalkeeper Gogo Jovcev and forward Dragan Nicevski.

Trajov back
Two players from FK Pobeda are also given their chance - Toni Meglenski and Pance Cembev - as well as Samsunspor midfield player Stojan Ignjatov. Ivica Gligorievski of FK Sileks receives his first call-up while PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv midfield player Vanco Trajov has returned to the fold.
