Kocian names first Slovakia squad

Slovakia's new head coach Ján Kocian has only four home-based players in his first squad - for the friendly against Bulgaria in Zilina on 15 November.

Žilina trio
The 48-year-old Kocian, who replaced Dušan Galis last week, has selected four players from the Slovakian Superliga, including three from leaders MŠK Žilina. "Žilina are playing really well and I want to take advantage of that," said Kocian. Otherwise the majority of the squad ply their trade in Russia, the Czech Republic and Germany.

Šinglár selection
Among the latter group is FC Slovan Liberec defender Peter Šinglár, who receives his first call-up, while four members of the side that defeated Wales 5-1 in UEFA EURO 2008™ Group D but subsequently missed the 4-1 loss to Germany return: Stanislav Varga, Ivan Hodúr, Ján Kozák and Martin Petráš.
