Deco debut
Historically the two nations have always enjoyed close ties, and last met in March 2003 at the old Estádio das Antas. Ronaldinho was on target for Brazil but goals from Pauleta and Brazil-born playmaker Deco, on his Portugal debut, gave Scolari's side victory. Overall, Portugal have won two of the teams' four meetings, with Brazil recording one success.
