Georgia will play Moldova instead of Estonia on 12 February in a friendly, the Georgian Football Federation (GFF) has announced.

Estonia drop out
Estonia dropped out of the agreed friendly date in Tbilisi, leaving Georgia in danger of going without a warm-up game ahead of tough UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifiers against the Republic of Ireland on 29 Match, Switzerland on 2 April and Russia on 30 April. Ironically, Georgia themselves dropped out of a a proposed friendly with Estonia in August 2002, when they preferred to travel to Trabzon to face Turkey.

Agreement reached
However, an agreement has now been reached between Georgia and Moldova for the countries' senior and Under-21 sides to meet. Both teams have won two matches in the five previous meetings between the two countires.

No points
Georgia are last in EURO 2004™ Group 10, with no points from their only match. Their second fixture against Russia in Tbilisi was halted at half-time due to floodlight failure. Moldova are also still to earn their first points in EURO 2004™ Group 3, after losing their first two games.
