France await Henry prognosis

France seem likely to travel to Lithuania for their next UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifier on 24 March without Thierry Henry after the striker injured both his stomach and groin as Arsenal FC exited the UEFA Champions League at the hands of PSV Eindhoven.

Alex winner
Henry started last night's match in London as a substitute due to the lingering effects of a foot injury but was brought on in the 66th minute as Arsène Wenger looked to press home his side's advantage after Alex's own goal had drawn the tie level shortly before. However, the Brazilian went on to score at the right end to seal an aggregate victory for PSV and Henry picked up two fresh strains to compound a miserable night for the Gunners.

'Difficult season'
Henry is undergoing scans today but Wenger said of his captain: "He has torn his stomach muscle and his groin and will be out for a few weeks. It is sad for him - he's had a very difficult season." Although Arsenal only have a top-four finish in the Premiership to play for this term, things are looking better for France. Les Bleus are level on nine points with Scotland after four matches at the top of EURO qualifying Group B.
