Russia have arranged to take on newly-confirmed UEFA EURO 2012™ co-hosts Poland in a friendly at the Lokomotiv Stadium in Moscow on 22 August.

Dutch connection
The teams have met twice before in non-competition matches, with Russia winning 2-0 in Moscow in 1996 and Poland making amends with a 3-1 victory in Chorzow two years later. The game will also bring together two Dutch coaches. Poland, led by Leo Beenhakker, are five points clear at the top of UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifying Group A while Guus Hiddink's Russia are third in Group E, level on points with England and Israel with a match in hand, and two points behind leaders Croatia.
