Harnik drafted into Austria squad

Werder Bremen striker Martin Harnik has been rewarded for helping Austria to the FIFA U-20 World Cup semi-finals by being given a first senior call-up.

Werder Bremen striker Martin Harnik has been rewarded for helping Austria to the FIFA U-20 World Cup semi-finals last month by being called up into Josef Hickersberger's senior squad to play the Czech Republic on Wednesday.

Ivanschitz injured
The 20-year-old, uncapped at senior level, takes the place of injured captain Andreas Ivanschitz for the game at Vienna's Ernst Happel-Stadion, the venue for the final of UEFA EURO 2008™ which Austria will co-host. Harnik, who took part in all seven of Austria's games in Canada, said: "I don't expect to play, but I'm still hoping I will."
