No place for Manchev

Bulgaria coach Plamen Markov has dropped Vladimir Manchev for the UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifier in Estonia.

Lille OSC striker Vladimir Manchev is the missing man in Bulgaria coach Plamen Markov's squad of 13 foreign-based players for the UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying match away to Estonia on 2 April.

Ended barren run
Manchev, the leading scorer in the Bulgarian Premier League last season, scored his first goal of 2003 in Lille's 2-2 draw at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard  on Saturday, but it was not enough for him to retain his place in Markov's squad.

Group leaders
Markov, who has called up players from six leagues around the world, including the Chinese top flight, will name the domestic-based members of his squad closer to the date of the match. Bulgaria have won all three of their qualifiers so far and sit top of Group 8.

Bulgaria's foreign-based players
Zdravkov, Kishishev, Pazin, I Petkov, S Petrov, Borimirov, M Petkov, Balakov, Peev, Jankovic, M  Petrov, Todorov, Berbatov.
