Trezeguet overlooked by France

David Trezeguet has been left out of the France squad ahead of the make-or-break UEFA EURO 2008™ Group B double-header with the Faroe Islands and Litunania.

Goalscoring record
The Juventus striker has been in fine form so far this season and tops the Serie A scoring charts with seven goals in six games. "The players competing for a place in the squad were stronger than him. We have many centre-forwards and a choice to make," said Domenech. The games against the Group B strugglers provide Thierry Henry with the perfect opportunity to equal Michel Platini's record of 41 goals for France. FC Internazionale Milano midfielder Patrick Vieira remains an absentee following the thigh injury he sustained while on international duty last month. France occupy third place in Group B, one point behind second-place Italy, and two behind Scotland.
