Istanbul setting for crucial match

Turkey will play their final UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifier against England at the home of Fenerbahçe SK.

Turkey have announced that their final UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifier against England will be played at the home of Fenerbahçe SK in Istanbul.

Crunch game
The revamped Sükrü Saraçoglu, which has a 50,000 capacity, was confirmed as the venue by the Turkish Football Association today. The match on 11 October is likely to decide which of the two countries wins Group 7 and qualifies automatically for next year's finals.

First or second
Turkey are currently on top of the group with two more points than England, who have a game in hand. Both nations have already made sure of at least the runners-up spot which would take them into a play-off for a place in Portugal.
