Inzaghi dropped by Italy

Italy coach Giovanni Trapattoni has left Filippo Inzaghi out of his squad for the friendly with Germany.

Miccoli involved
Juventus FC's new signing Fabrizio Miccoli is preferred to the Milan forward in Trapattoni's squad. The 24-year-old, who moved to the Delle Alpi from AC Perugia in the summer, has won four international caps.

High-profile strike force
The Italy coach has been able to select Francesco Totti, Christian Vieri and Alessandro Del Piero together for the first time since the 2002 FIFA World Cup, with all three forwards included in the squad along with Totti's AS Roma team-mate Marco Delvecchio.

All to play for
Italy currently lie in second place in UEFA EURO 2004™ Group 9, two points behind Wales but having played a game more than the group leaders. Trapattoni's team face Wales in Milan on 6 September, having suffered a 2-1 defeat in Cardiff last October, before travelling to Serbia and Montenegro four days later and ending their qualifying campaign with a home match against Azerbaijan on 11 October.
