Buryak keeps faith with Gay

Olexiy Gay has retained his place in Leonid Buryak's squad for Ukraine's final two qualifying games.

Seven from Shakhtar
The midfield player is one of seven FC Shakhtar Donetsk players included in a 24-man party, including goalkeepers Olexandr Shovkovskiy and Vitaliy Reva. There is also a ten-strong FC Dynamo Kyiv contingent in the squad, of which seven play abroad.

Hopes in the balance
Ukraine currently lie in third place in Group 6 with nine points from six matches, two behind Spain and a further point adrift of section leaders Greece. Buryak's team take on the group's bottom side, Northern Ireland, in Donetsk on 6 September, before ending their qualifying campaign with a visit to Elche to play Spain four days later.
