EURO play-offs: the disciplinary tightrope

Zlatan Ibrahimović is one of the players who must watch their step over the next few days if they are to avoid suspension for the UEFA EURO 2016 play-off second legs.

Norway v Hungary
Norway right-back Tom Høgli is dealing with a back injury as well as the threat of a one-match ban, but is expected to start along with forward Alexander Søderlund. Hungary players at risk include the only ever-present in their qualifying campaign, midfielder Balázs Dzsudzsák. Defender Roland Juhász will be available for the second leg after serving a suspension on Thursday.

Bosnia and Herzegovina v Republic of Ireland
Players who must tread carefully for the Bosnians include Edin Džeko, who scored seven in seven in qualifying, as well as group stage ever-presents Miralem Pjanić and goalkeeper Asmir Begović. Muhamed Bešić completes a three-match ban in the first leg, for which Ireland's John O'Shea and Jon Walters are also out of commission.

Ukraine v Slovenia
Dnipro right-back Artem Fedetskiy is the lone Ukraine player on the disciplinary tightrope following the withdrawal of Ruslan Rotan through injury, while Olexandr Kucher and Taras Stepanenko are suspended for the first instalment. Slovenia's men under threat are both attack-minded regulars – Josip Iličić and Dejan Lazarevič.

Sweden v Denmark
Zlatan Ibrahimović scored over half Sweden's qualifying goals (eight in total) and would be a major miss for the second leg – together with the similarly experienced midfielder Kim Källström. The absences of centre-back Simon Kjær and midfielder William Kvist would be felt acutely if the Danes had defending to do in the return fixture.
