Portugal resumed training this morning ahead of Tuesday's friendly against Argentina at Old Trafford and, after playing an important role in creating both of Cristiano Ronaldo's winning goals against Denmark and Armenia, Ricardo Quaresma played down his importance.
"Cristiano does not have to thank me; we are here to help each other. I'm enjoying my run of form," said the 31-year-old, returned to the Portugal fold for the last two matches after missing the previous games.
The FC Porto winger is relishing his next international match: "Argentina are one of the world’s greatest teams and, even though it is a friendly, it's always an interesting match. And, as ever, we want to win."
Sporting Clube de Portugal midfielder João Mário, 21, capped two times under Fernando Santos against Denmark and France in October, added: "Above all, it will be Portugal vs Argentina and not Ronaldo vs Messi."
Portugal's players have a day off on Saturday before reconvening for training on Sunday morning as they start preparing for Tuesday's friendly against Argentina at Old Trafford – a venue with special meaning for Ronaldo and Nani.
Nani, on loan from Manchester United FC at Sporting Clube de Portugal, said: "It will be a spectacular moment to go to back to a venue where I played for many years, and to which I still belong. It's a fantastic stadium that will witness two great teams, so it has everything to be a good show. I hope I will be well received."
