Vladimir Petković, Switzerland coach
The problem was from lacking concentration when we conceded. In the first half we had many good ideas but we could not convert them into goals. No matter how, we got three points. We had a lot of errors, but it was provoked by a good Lithuania team; organised, competitive. We had big difficulties.
It is hard to come back from one goal down and I had to make changes. We did not underestimate the opponent, they just played very well today. At the end of the game we played how we wanted.
At half-time I tried to reorganise and give more space to [Xherdan] Shaqiri and it paid off. The next game is not decisive, but it is very important. We play England four days after Slovenia, and we now have some distance from Lithuania.
Vladimir Petković's Switzerland side hit the woodwork three times and missed a number of other big chances but ultimately delivered a solid performance in the 3-0 win against Liechtenstein four days before their Group E meeting with Lithuania. Galatasaray AŞ midfielder Blerim Džemaili scored either side of a fine Xherdan Shaqiri strike on artificial turf in Thun, with Liechtenstein only once testing debutant keeper Marwin Hitz.
