Volkan Babacan, Turkey goalkeeper

We are having a hard time and all the national team players accept that. The whole nation wants to see great things from us, but from time to time we are not be able to reach our potential.

We will learn from our 4-0 defeat by Brazil. It was a good test to see our current level. Unlike wins, such bad results are never forgotten.

Now in order to continue our bid to reach the EURO 2016 finals, we have to beat Kazakhstan. We need to go on a good run, starting with Kazakhstan.

Turkey coach Fatih Terim has sprung a surprise after naming his starting XI on the eve of Sunday's game against Kazakhstan:
Volkan Demirel; Gökhan Gönül, Serdar Aziz, Semih Kaya, Caner Erkin; Selçuk İnan, Ozan Tufan; Volkan Şen, Arda Turan, Olcay Şahan; Burak Yılmaz.

"We don't have any injured players," Terim said. "All the players are ready. We tried hard to neutralise all the unpleasant remains of the Brazil friendly [which Turkey lost 4-0 on Wednesday]. Since yesterday's training I have felt happy with what I have seen both on and off the pitch.

"We want a fresh start by getting three points. I can't remember if I had a similar period like this in the national team before but I am obviously not happy. Iceland, Czech Republic, Latvia – none of the games were good. I believe Turkey can get a win though. Then the belief and hope will change."
