Zürich defender Berat Djimsiti has received his first Albania call-up for Gianni de Biasi's side's Group I qualifiers against Denmark and Portugal. "We have some questions at the back. Mërgim Mavraj is injured and Arlind Ajeti does not have a team yet, so I felt our central defence needed some help," said De Biasi, explaining his decision to select Swiss-born Djimsiti.

FC Vaduz defender Naser Aliji has received his first Albania call-up for the friendly meeting with France on Saturday, with coach Gianni De Biasi - who has now been granted Albanian citizenship - electing to bring in seven players from the domestic league to replace some squad regulars. "I have followed these players in our domestic league and they deserve a chance," he said.
