It seems Bulgaria will be able to call on PFC CSKA Moskva midfielder Georgi Milanov for tonight's qualifier against Malta at the National Stadium in Ta'Qali. Milanov was omitted from the initial squad because of an ankle injury, but he arrived at the training camp on Tuesday and has now been declared fit. On Monday, Bulgaria lost 4-0 in a friendly game against Turkey, and Milanov is now expected to go straight into the starting Ivaylo Petev's starting XI.

Ivaylo Petev will be without goalkeepers Vladislav Stoytanov (PFC Ludogorets Ragzrad, knee) and Nikolay Mihaylov (Mersin İdman Yurdu, hand) for the friendly against Turkey on 8 June and the qualifier versus Malta four days later. PFC CSKA Moskva’s Georgi Milanov (ankle) is also out, while fellow midfielder Hristo Zlatinski has been called up.

Ivelin Popov arrived at the training camp in high spirits after completing his move from FC Kuban Krasnodar to FC Spartak Moskva earlier this week. "This is a very important step forward for me," said the forward, 27. "Spartak are the most popular Russian club and I am looking forward to joining my new team."
