Charalampos Christodoulou, Cyprus coach

Unfortunately, just like the last game, we fell behind due to mistakes and we paid for them in full. When we did manage to get control of possession, we couldn't convert our chances, especially when they had ten men. In the second half, for most periods we were in control, we pegged them back but it is not easy to unlock a tight defence like the Welsh one.

The Cypriot press are putting the disappointment of a 2-1 home loss to Israel behind them as Cyprus take on Wales in Cardiff tonight. "No fearing Bale and co," reads headline in Goal News with much emphasis being placed on how Cyprus will try to contain Gareth Bale. The front page features comments by Cyprus boss Charalampos Christodoulou who claims that the Real Madrid CF star "can win games on his own, although we will be focusing on the entire Welsh team".

Sport Time is throwing its weight behind the national side with the words 'we believe in you', saying that Cyprus will be looking to play how they did in the second half against Israel. "We know who we are," is the headline in Gipedo, which quotes Wales boss Chris Coleman saying: "The Cypriots will give their all." The paper reports that Cyprus' first choice keeper Antonis Giorgallides is likely to miss tonight's game after receiving an injury against Israel.
