The main thing is that the result was in our favour. After the recent defeat in Ukraine it was very important to get three points today. We were solid at the back, but we also made a lot of mistakes during the transition from defence to attack. Now we will look forward to Slovakia, will try to get a good result there. To be honest, there is a desire to help [third-placed] Ukraine.
Belarus coach Aleksandr Khatskevich reacts to their 2-0 win over Luxembourg
Belarus coach Aleksandr Khatskevich ahead of home match against Luxembourg:
You obviously want to lead 3-0 after the first half and then play the game out calmly. We are trying to dominate on the pitch. It's extremely hard, but you have to move in that direction. You have to progress, improve your confidence. This is a long process, and many small things have to come into line for that to happen. You can't think it's easy to beat Luxembourg. They have been tough opponents in every match in our group. I'd love to use an attacking 4-3-3 formation, but we just don't have the players for that. We can only choose our tactics based on our opponents and the players we have in our squad.
