The ball loops slowly over Ricardo and into the back of the net. Suddenly the decibel level has dropped in the stadium and the Dutch have a new sense of belief.

Manciche receives a short corner from Ronaldo, runs unchallenged to the corner of the penalty area and launches a curling effort that flies in off Van der Sar's far post. The goalkeeper looks stunned, while the Portugal bench erupts in joy. It's the second goal Portugal have scored from a corner, and puts them 30 minutes away from their first ever appearance in a major final.
