Moldova and San Marino complete their UEFA EURO 2012 Group E programme in Chisinau with the visitors still chasing their first point, and goal, in qualifying.
• A first-half goal from Nicolae Josan and a late penalty by substitute Anatolie Doroş rewarded a positive display from Moldova as they beat San Marino 2-0 in Serravalle on 12 October 2010.
• Moldova prevailed 1-0 in their only previous meeting with San Marino, a friendly at the same venue on 26 April 2000.
• Until their first Group E encounter last year, that friendly fixture in 2000 had been the only time that teams from the two nations had met at any level – club, national, women's or futsal – in an official game.
