A 3-0 win for the visitors in Astana will still be fresh in both sides' minds as Germany play host to Kazakhtsan in UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying Group A, bidding to extend their flawless start.

Match background
• The teams had never faced each other at international level until 12 October last year, but are now meeting for the second game in succession. Kazakhstan kept the contest goalless until half-time but efforts from Miroslav Klose, Mario Gomez and Lukas Podolski eventually won the day in Astana.

• Clubs from Germany and Kazakhstan were paired together in last season's UEFA Europa League play-off round, with Werder Bremen winning 6-3 at home and 2-0 away against FK Aktobe.

• Germany have won all four of their Group A games to date, by an average victory margin of three goals. Kazakhstan have lost all four of their fixtures and are yet to score in UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying.
