• A diminutive playmaker who starred for Italy at 2008 Olympics.

• Spent 2007/08 on loan at Empoli, scoring six goals in 35 Serie A games, before returning to Juve.

• Started both UEFA Champions League group games against FC BATE Borisov and gradually increased first-team involvement with Juve as 2008/09 campaign progressed. However, by summer 2010 he was on the fringes and was loaned to Parma

• The loan proved a success and in January 2011 he scored twice in a 4-1 win at Juventus. He signed a permanent Parma deal in the summer.

• Having helped Italy to the 2008 Olympic quarter-finals and 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship semis, he made his senior debut on 9 February 2011 against Germany.
