FC Vaduz defender Naser Aliji has received his first Albania call-up for the friendly meeting with France on Saturday, with coach Gianni De Biasi - who has now been granted Albanian citizenship - electing to bring in seven players from the domestic league to replace some squad regulars. "I have followed these players in our domestic league and they deserve a chance," he said.
Goalkeepers: Orges Shehi (KS Skënderbeu), Etrit Berisha (SS Lazio), Alban Hoxha (FK Partizani).
Defenders: Naser Aliji (FC Vaduz), Arlind Ajeti (FC Basel 1893), Lorik Cana (SS Lazio), Renato Arapi (KS Skënderbeu), Arbnor Fejzullahu (FK Partizani), Elseid Hysaj (Empoli FC), Amir Rrahmani (FK Partizani).
Midfielders: Migjen Basha (Torino FC), Ergys Kaçe (PAOK FC), Andi Lila (Parma FC), Sabien Lilaj (KS Skënderbeu), Ledian Memushaj (Pescara Calcio), Herolind Shala (AC Sparta Praha), Afrim Taku (SK Tirana), Odise Roshi (FSV Frankfurt).
Forwards: Bekim Balaj (HNK Rijeka), Sokol Çikalleshi (RNK Split), Ermir Lenjani (Stade Rennais FC), Armando Sadiku (FC Zürich), Valdet Rama (TSV 1860 München).
Gianni De Biasi, Albania coach:
It was a historic victory for Albania and the most important match of my career, but now it's over. We did a good job. Armenia got into our area once and scored, but we dominated the rest of the match. They are a team that defends well, and we know it would be difficult. At half-time I told my players we could win this match - we were full of belief, and we did it. The match against Armenia was, as I said, the most important of my career, but now the next qualifier against Denmark is the match of my life.
