Estonia 1-1 Iceland
Former captain Raio Piiroja, 35, returned to international duty after a long absence to make his 114th and farewell appearance for Estonia in Tallinn. However, Iceland – missing three key players in captain Aron Gunnarsson, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Gylfi Sigurdsson – dominated the early exchanges and were rewarded with the opener when Rúrik Gíslason guided a ninth-minute effort into the far corner. Estonia responded well to the setback although they had to wait until ten minutes after half-time to restore parity as Konstantin Vassiljev dribbled past several markers before unleashing the equaliser.

Magnus Pehrsson, Estonia coach:

We were struggling a lot because Switzerland were imposing an intensive tempo and we are not used to that. [Xherdan] Shaqiri created a lot of problems for us. They are a strong team but I think we looked okay. England and Switzerland are the strongest teams in the group and are almost equal.
