Sparta Praha midfielder Martin Frýdek and defender Filip Novák, the latter fresh from joining Midtjylland, are additional call-ups for the Czech Republic's Group A qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Latvia. "I definitely chose those two after the second legs of the Europa League play-offs, in which they both put in very good performances," Czech coach Pavel Vrba said. It is Frýdek's his first inclusion at senior level, though he shone in the recent UEFA European Under-21 Championship on home soil.
The Czech Republic have announced their squad to face Kazakhstan and Latvia, with Tomáš Koubek, Jiří Skalák and David Pavelka all called up for the first time. "I believe they will show their quality despite their lack of experience," said coach Pavel Vrba. "Regardless of our injury list we need six points from these two upcoming games."
