Basque boost
The RFEF has accepted a request to play a match in the area for the first time since 1967. RFEF secretary Gerardo González said: "We will play in the Basque Country soon. There is a long waiting list but we hope to be there in 2004."
'All corners of Spain'
Spain have played six games in the Basque Country, five in Bilbao and one in San Sebastián. One reason for their absence has been the tense political situation in the province but González played this down, saying: "It is just a football match. The Spanish team has to be in all corners of Spain."
