Toshack turns to fit-again Koumas

Jason Koumas has been recalled by Wales manager John Toshack for next month's UEFA EURO 2008™ Group D qualifiers against Slovakia and Cyprus.

West Bromwich Albion FC midfielder Jason Koumas has been recalled by Wales manager John Toshack for next month's UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifiers against Slovakia and Cyprus.

Giggs worry
Koumas was left out of the squad for the Group D opener against the Czech Republic on 2 September as he was deemed unfit having missed much of pre-season training with West Brom. He has since proved his fitness, however, and will provide vital experience to a party whose captain, Ryan Giggs, is included despite being unlikely to recover from a hamstring strain before the Slovakia match in Cardiff on 7 October. He may be available to face Cyprus four days later but defenders Mark Delaney and Sam Rickets are ruled out.
