Galatasaray AŞ struck four times in 26 minutes either side of half-time to defeat FC Dinamo 1948 Bucureşti and consolidate their lead atop UEFA Europa League Group F.

Two-goal Nonda
After Harry Kewell's 32nd-minute opener, Shabani Nonda struck before and after half-time and a penalty from Elano just before the hour made it four before substitute Gabriel Boştină pulled a goal back for the Romanian visitors. The victory leaves the Istanbul club a point clear of Panathinaikos FC, 1-0 winners against SK Sturm Graz, at the top of the section ahead of their return in Bucharest on 5 November.

Keita assist
Aside from an effort by Dinamo's Marius Alexe, little had been seen of either side until Kewell broke the deadlock with a left-wing cross which sailed straight in. Visiting goalkeeper Emilian Dolha then denied Nonda and Kewell but could do nothing about Galatasaray's second goal, three minutes before half-time, Kader Keita driving into the penalty area and teeing up Nonda.

Substitute impact
Within 60 seconds of the second half Nonda struck again, turning in another cross from Keita. Dinamo's Adrian Cristea then had a goal ruled out and, with an eye on Sunday's league match against arch-rivals Fenerbahçe SK, coach Frank Rijkaard replaced Keita with Aydın Yılmaz. The substitute made an immediate impact by winning the 58th-minute spot-kick which Elano duly dispatched. Dinamo responded with Boştină's strike and came close to grabbing a second when Cristea's 25-metre shot struck the crossbar.
