Austrian Bundesliga club FK Austria Wien have permanently signed prolific Norwegian striker Sigurd Rushfeldt from Spanish side Racing Santander after his successful loan spell last season when his team clinched a UEFA Cup spot.
Fee agreed
Rushfeldt arrived in Vienna midway through the 2001/02 campaign and scored eleven goals in 16 matches. The 29-year-old forward has joined for a fee of €1.81m, just over half of what Santander were originally asking.
Two installments
Wien, who finished fourth in the Bundesliga, have paid an initial installment of €1m, with an additional €810,000 to follow next year. Their UEFA Cup campaign begins in the first round.
