Five-year contract
The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal and will replace Marco Di Vaio who joined Juventus FC yesterday. "I'm very happy," said Mutu. "I had given up hope of playing for Parma and was preparing to spend the season in Serie B with Verona."
A new maturity
Mutu, who is expected to partner another new signing, the Brazilian Adriano, in the Parma attack, added: "I think I have matured both as a person and as a player and I am ready to have another good season in the top flight."
Third time lucky
The former FC Dinamo Bucuresti starlet impressed last term, scoring 12 goals in 32 games as Verona were relegated from Serie A. Parma are Mutu's third Italian club. He joined Internazionale FC in December 1999 but played only ten games before moving to Verona.
