Berger will leave on 1 November after a financial settlement was agreed, although if he finds a new club in the near future that deal will be terminated. A Utrecht statement said: "Han Berger has worked at FC Utrecht for a total of 15 years, in the function of assistant coach, head coach and technical manager. Both parties will therefore separate with respect for each other."
French test
Utrecht are through to the UEFA Cup second round and will face AJ Auxerre over two legs next month. The club will welcome AJ Auxerre on 6 November with the return in France falling on 27 November.
