Central defence
Heerenveen, who will play in the UEFA Cup this season, have signed Breuer from SC Excelsior, ending his six-year association with the Rotterdam club. The 24-year-old plays in central defence but can also operate in midfield.
Summer signings
Breuer was one of the best players in the Dutch second division last season, as were Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Yuri Rose, two other arrivals at Heerenveen this summer. Huntelaar shone on loan at AGOVV Apeldoorn from PSV Eindhoven, while Rose was at SC Heracles.
