Arvhage bolsters AaB defence

Aalborg BK have signed defender Kristoffer Arvhage on loan until the winter break from IF Elfsborg.

Aalborg BK have signed defender Kristoffer Arvhage on loan until the winter break from Swedish club IF Elfsborg. "We have a run of matches in the near future and the addition of Arvhage makes us less vulnerable to injuries at the back," AaB sports director Lynge Jacobsen said.

Elfsborg regular
Arvhage, 26, is a former Sweden Under-21 international but has yet to make the step up to the full Sweden side. He is in his ninth season with Elfsborg and has scored eight times in 151 league matches over that period. The deal includes an option for AaB to buy Arvhage, if the two clubs can agree terms when the loan spell comes to an end.

Poor start
AaB are struggling in the Danish Superleague this season having lost four of their first five matches. They are, however, Denmark's sole remaining representative in Europe and host AJ Auxerre in the first round of the UEFA Cup on 16 September.
