Rytter adds to Brøndby blues

Brøndby IF have been dealt another defensive blow with right-back Thomas Rytter joining captain Per Nielsen on the long-term injured list.

Knee injury
The 31-year-old is facing up to two months out with a knee injury, just days after Nielsen was told he can expect a similar lay-off with a broken jaw. Rytter, who only moved to the Danish club in the summer from VfL Wolfsburg, was hurt in Sunday's 3-0 league defeat at AGF Århus.

Johansen chance
"Thomas has damaged a ligament in his right knee," said Brøndby director Per Bjerregaard, who is also the club doctor. Rytter could be replaced by experienced defender Dan Anton Johansen for the Danish champions' forthcoming UEFA Cup first-round tie against FC Zürich.
