Baup gets another go at Sparta

Toulouse FC coach Elie Baup will look to outwit AC Sparta Praha at the third attempt having come up against the Czech giants earlier in his career.

• Baup met Sparta during his time as coach of FC Girondins de Bordeaux, playing two games in the 1999/00 UEFA Champions League campaign. Each match ended 0-0, and both teams progressed to the second group stage.

• Toulouse lost their opener 1-0 at Bayer 04 Leverkusen while Sparta went down 2-1 at home against FC Zürich. That defeat means Sparta are without a win in their past 12 home European matches.

• The two sides have never met in European competition.

• Toulouse have never come up against Czech opposition in Europe - hardly surprising as they have only played 13 UEFA club competition games to date.

• Sparta have played six games against French sides in the past, winning one, drawing two and losing three. On French soil, they have drawn once and lost twice - most recently going down 5-0 at Olympique Lyonnais in the 2004/05 UEFA Champions League group stage.

• Sparta midfielder Ludovic Sylvestre will head home to France for the match. He is in his second season at Sparta after joining the club from FC Barcelona in the summer of 2006.

• Sparta coach Michal Bílek's only experience of French opposition as a player came when his Czechoslovakia side lost 2-1 in France in a EURO '92 qualifier. Jean-Pierre Papin scored both goals for Les Bleus.

• During his time as Czech Under-19 coach, Bílek's side earned a 3-3 draw against France in the 2003 finals to help them progress to the semi-finals, where they fell to eventual winners Italy.

• Sparta midfielder Milan Petržela is within one booking of a one-match suspension.

• Sparta striker Miroslav Slepička celebrates his 26th birthday on 10 November, two days after the Toulouse game.

• Toulouse have not won in their last three European home games.

• Sparta have not won in their two UEFA club competition away games this season.

• FC Spartak Moskva are at home against Leverkusen in the day's other Group E game.
