Lindström makes point for AaB

Aalborg BK 1-1 RSC Anderlecht Mattias Lindström scored five minutes from time to prevent Anderlecht from making it two wins from two.

Mattias Lindström scored four minutes from time to prevent RSC Anderlecht from making it two wins from two in Group G and ensure Aalborg BK avoided defeat in their opening game in the section.

Wasilewski opener
The Danish club were not in action on Matchday 1 when Anderlecht overcame Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC 2-0. Les Mauves would have fancied their chances of adding three more points to their tally when the game entered its latter stages with them a goal to the good following Marcin Wasilewski's 59th-minute opener but it was not to be as Lindström dispatched a Martin Pedersen cross late on to the delight of the home support.

Chances traded
Pedersen also created the opening chance of the game which Siyabonga Nomvethe could only volley wide. Jan Polák did likewise for the visitors soon after, and Rade Prica and Serhat Akın also traded chances before Nicolas Pareja cleared off the line after Michael Jakobsen met Pedersen's free-kick from the right with a thumping header. Ahmed Hassan could have put the visitors in front in first-half added time, but his shot went well wide - it was indicative of the opening 45 minutes.

Spurs next
Anderlecht found their range after the restart, however, and went in front just shy of the hour when Lucas Biglia's corner was turned in from five metres by Wasilewski. Prica could have equalised on 65 minutes when he headed Pedersen's corner goalwards but Olivier Deschacht cleared, while Hassan failed to find the target when presented with an opportunity to double the advantage on 80 minutes. Lindström was not so profligate in the 86th as he met Pedersen's ball in and beat Daniel Zítka to boost AaB confidence ahead of their trip to Tottenham Hotspur FC on 29 November, when Anderlecht are not in action.
